Prof. Dr. Fatma BIKMAZ
She was born in Ankara on January 5th, 1970. She completed her primary and secondary education in Ankara. She received her BA in Curriculum and Instruction from the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Ankara University in 1990. She began to serve as a research assistant in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Ankara University in 1991. She received her MA in 1993 and PhD in 2001 in curriculum development from the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Graduate School of Social Sciences, Ankara University. She was awarded the Integrated Doctorate Grant Programme by the Turkish Academy of Sciences and within this scope she did research in Arizona State University in 1998. She began to serve as an assistant professor in 2006, associate professor in 2008 and professor in 2013 at Ankara University. She won the Singapore Cooperation Programme Training Awards given by the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the National Institute of Education, and attended a training programme in teacher education in 2007. She did post-doctoral research in Teachers College, Columbia University within the scope of the Scientific Research Grant Programme provided by the Council of Higher Education between 2011 and 2012. She published various books, book chapters, proceedings and articles in national and international periodicals. She served as the Vice Dean of Ankara University Faculty of Educational Sciences between 2012 and 2015, has been serving as the Head of Department of Educational Sciences since 2016, and as the Dean of Ankara University Faculty of Educational Sciences since September 7th, 2015.
